Getting Ready...Again

I spent the day cleaning the house, checking everyone's suitcases (that are still packed), and getting all new travel documents printed. We are set to drive to Michigan on Saturday morning and then fly out of Detroit to Guatemala on Sunday, June 20th. Please pray that nothing prohibits us from going on the trip this time. We now know that God definitely had a hand in our trip being delayed. The rest of the team was able to go ahead of us and assess the needs of Casa Bernabe. Meanwhile, we were in Indiana gathering the needs of the people at Casa Bernabe. We were able to send 6 additional suitcases of donations with the Crossroads YWAV team and we have another four extra with us. We appreciate each of you that have donated items and/or cash. If we had been in Guatemala many and probably most of those donations would not have made their way to Casa Bernabe; another example of God's perfect timing.

Please pray for safety in Guatemala as well as protection from illness. Ava has been dealing with Strep throat and Mateo came down with a cold yesterday. We are excited to return to Ava and Mateo's birth country and look forward to sharing our adventures with you over the next week and a half. I will try very hard to blog each day and provide pictures of our work. Thanks to Michelle Tiek I now have a cool looking blog. It might motivate me more to keep up with it. Thanks Michelle.
